Coming
in September: A Workshop On Digital
Infrared
Photography with Alan Sislen
Ever wish you
could shoot outstanding images in the bright mid-day sun? Want to
know the advantages of infrared vs. black and white? Would you like to learn
new ways to use an old medium? Photographer Alan Sislen will discuss these and
other topics in his comprehensive workshop, “Digital Infrared Photography,” at
the Sept. 3 VPS meeting.
A landscape
photographer who shoots in infrared and color, Alan also will tell us how to convert
a point-and-shoot or digital SLR to an infrared camera and cover the challenge
of exposure and focusing in infrared, which is not visible light.
A photographer
for many years, Alan is an Associate
Artist at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town, Alexandria, Va., and a
Resident Artist at the Metropolitan Center for the Visual Arts (VisArts) in
Rockville, Md. His work has been included in juried exhibitions throughout
the Washington metropolitan area and may be seen at VisArts, the Multiple
Exposures Gallery at the Torpedo Factory and on his website, www.AlanSislenPhotography.com, which
includes an array of infrared photos.
