The VPS guest speaker in April is photographer and naturalist Wayne Wolfersberger who will discuss the strategies and techniques that foster successful wildlife photography. A well-known educator and nature photographer, Wolfersberger maintains that outstanding wildlife images are in many cases the result of careful planning rather than good fortune.
His presentation will comprise photographs of a diverse array of animals including snakes, bears, crayfish and birds, accompanied by the “unique stories” behind the shots. Wolfersberger employs macros as well as long lenses and occasionally shoots at night using only a flashlight as his source of light. During the spring and fall, he teaches a variety of photographic courses for Fairfax County’s Adult and Community Education organization and can be found each summer in Yellowstone National Park, working for the U.S. National Park Service.
Wolfersberger
has been a photographer

well as on calendars, post cards and in fine art exhibits.
